What is Work Injury Compensation Insurance

Covers compensation to an employee for death, disability, injury or sickness as a result of employment under your company. 

 

Covers your liability as an employer under the Work Injury Compensation Act and protects you from any legal liability arising from claims by your employees at Common Law. This will also include legal cost and expenses covered in the terms of the policy.

What Does It Covers
  1. Medical expenses, hospital bills, medication and other charges due to work injury

  2. Medical leaves wages for days employee were issued with medical leave due to the work injury or disease

  3. Light duties wages. The difference between the injured worker's normal wages and wages while on light duties. Company is to pay the worker the full wages and the difference is claimable from their WIC policy.

  4. Lump sum compensation for permanent incapacity or death

  5. Cost of legal proceedings if the worker sues your company for negligence that resulted in his death, disability or injury.
